There is nothing that damages an economy more than the person who sees the glass as half empty, and "knows" that the rest of the milk will soon be gone. This applies most accurately to large groups of people, but within every group there are opinion leaders who mostly decide on what is the "opinion" of others who do not think for themselves, but find out what "their" opinion leader thinks. We come out of a gloomy period over the resentful objections of those who wish us weak or sick. The above, and the very basic fact that "there is no free lunch" are about all you have to understand to understand the economy. |
