Karl, I always appreciate your motives, if I can't always agree with the message. As a representative of labor and business organizations, I have succeeded in remaining neutral on party line messages. I concentrate on getting the job done. If one or the other party is the one with the power to get me where I want to go, then I'm all for it. In my work with seniors these past three years, I find that most are afraid of change of any kind, even if they are dissatisfied with the current situation. Both party's health plans stink in my book. Pandering to the special interests without any sign of doing their homework, they've both succeeded in totally missing the point. Several recent surveys of Congress and the House showed that most legislators do not understand how the health system works now. They are simply patching on band-ades as per their current squeeky wheels. This is no surprise. A Congressman recently gave the same excuse, for why a bill to change a law on roof tiles hadn't yet been resolved. As to the use of the N word: I'm thrilled by my 9 year old niece's take on Hot Pockets, "this tastes Nasty!" That alone gives me hope for future generations. 2Life, Caryn Isaacs |
